Why growing businesses need CFO-level support

A business can be profitable on paper and still run short of cash. Stock builds up, customers pay late, a marketplace holds back settlements, GST and salary fall due on the same week, and the founder ends up arranging money instead of growing the business. A full-time CFO is often too expensive at this stage, and the bookkeeper is not expected to plan.

Our virtual CFO service for Gurgaon businesses fills that gap. We take your monthly books, turn them into numbers you can use, and stay with you through decisions on pricing, borrowing, hiring and expansion.

What our virtual CFO service covers

Who uses a part-time CFO

  • Traders and distributors with large stock and credit sales, where working capital decides growth.
  • Manufacturers in Manesar and nearby industrial areas who need costing, machine-wise or product-wise margins and term-loan planning.
  • Online brands selling on several marketplaces and their own website, where returns, ad spend and platform fees decide real profit.
  • Service companies and startups in Gurugram that need a budget, a burn-rate view and investor reporting.
  • Family businesses preparing for a bank loan, a new partner, a second generation or a future listing.

What a monthly CFO cycle looks like

  1. Books closed. The month’s entries, bank reconciliation and GST matching are completed, either by our bookkeeping team or by your accountant with our review.
  2. MIS prepared. Actuals are compared with budget and with the same month last year. Unusual movements are explained, not just shown.
  3. Cash forecast rolled forward. Expected collections, supplier payments, salaries, taxes, EMIs and capital spend for the next 13 weeks are updated.
  4. Review meeting. We go through the numbers with you, usually in under an hour, and agree actions such as follow-ups on overdue customers, a price change or a stock reduction.
  5. Follow-through. Actions are tracked in the next month’s pack, together with any bank, investor or compliance deliverables due.

Key numbers we help you track

Measure What it tells you
Gross margin by product or channel Which lines actually earn money after direct costs
Contribution after marketing and platform fees Whether online sales are profitable once returns and ads are included
Debtor days How long customers take to pay
Stock days How long goods sit before being sold
Creditor days How much credit suppliers are giving you
Cash conversion cycle How many days of cash are tied up in running the business
Fixed cost coverage How much sales you need each month to break even
Debt service coverage Whether profits are enough to pay loan instalments and interest

These are the same measures banks and investors look at, so tracking them monthly also prepares you for any loan or funding conversation.

How we work with your team

We do not replace your accountant or your auditor. Where you have an in-house accountant, we review their work and focus on analysis and planning. Where you do not, our bookkeeping team keeps the books and the CFO work is built on them. Audits remain with an independent firm of practising Chartered Accountants. For companies, the CFO calendar also covers RoC filings, so that board approvals and MCA forms follow the accounts on time.

Why Gurugram businesses choose KSV for CFO support

  • Ground-level knowledge of GST and tax. Cash plans that ignore GST credit, TDS and advance tax do not work. Ours include them.
  • Experience with e-commerce and trading books. Marketplace settlements, returns and stock are where most cash gets stuck, and we work with them every day.
  • Plain reporting. A few pages a month, in plain English, with clear actions.

We work with businesses across Gurgaon, Delhi and the NCR, and online with clients in other states.

Frequently asked questions

What is a virtual CFO?

A virtual or part-time CFO is a finance professional who works with your business for a fixed number of hours or meetings each month instead of as a full-time employee. The role covers planning, analysis and decision support, not just bookkeeping, and the work is mostly done online with periodic meetings.

How is a virtual CFO different from an accountant?

An accountant records what has happened and keeps the books and returns correct. A CFO uses those numbers to plan what should happen next, such as how much cash you will need, which products make money, what price to quote and when to borrow. Both are needed, and our virtual CFO service sits on top of accurate monthly books.

When does a business need CFO support?

Common signs are growing sales with no growth in bank balance, frequent cash shortages near salary or GST dates, a bank or investor asking for projections, a plan to raise a loan or equity, or a founder who spends too much time on finance. Many businesses in Gurgaon reach this stage somewhere after their first few crores of turnover.

Do you need access to our Tally data?

Yes, read access to the books is needed, either through Tally data shared securely or monthly exports. If the books are not current, we first bring them up to date through our bookkeeping service so that the MIS is reliable.

Can you deal with our bank on our behalf?

We prepare the stock statements, projections and financial information the bank asks for and can attend meetings with you. Loan decisions, limits and interest rates are decided only by the bank.

Is the engagement long term?

Most clients work with us on a monthly retainer that can be reviewed every quarter. Some start with a one-time project, such as an annual budget or a cash-flow review, and continue only if it adds value.

Kya chhoti company ke liye bhi CFO service useful hai?

Haan. Even a small business benefits from a simple monthly MIS, a cash-flow forecast and a product-wise margin report. We keep the scope light in the early stage and add more as the business grows.

Will you sign our financial statements or audit report?

No. KSV is an accounting and taxation consultancy and does not sign audit reports. Statutory and tax audits are signed by an associated firm of practising Chartered Accountants. Our role is to prepare, analyse and present the numbers.

How do you keep our data confidential?

Access is limited to the team members working on your account, files are shared through your chosen channel, and data is not shared with anyone without your approval. We can sign a confidentiality agreement at the start of the engagement.
