Who needs GST registration in Gurugram?
Haryana follows the higher threshold for businesses that supply only goods. Registration becomes compulsory when your aggregate turnover in a financial year crosses the limit below, or when your business falls in a category that must register regardless of turnover. Aggregate turnover is calculated on an all-India basis for the same PAN.
| Situation | Registration required? |
|---|---|
| Only goods, aggregate turnover above Rs 40 lakh | Yes |
| Services, or goods and services, aggregate turnover above Rs 20 lakh | Yes |
| Inter-state taxable supply of goods | Yes, regardless of turnover |
| Selling goods through e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho and others) | Generally yes; limited notified exceptions apply |
| Liable to pay tax under reverse charge | Yes |
| Casual taxable person (temporary stall, exhibition) | Yes |
| Below threshold, but customers or a marketplace ask for a GSTIN | Voluntary registration is allowed |
Not sure where you stand? Send your business activity and expected turnover on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether registration is compulsory, and whether the composition scheme could suit you.
Regular scheme or composition scheme?
Most businesses register under the regular scheme. Small businesses may opt for the composition scheme, which has a lower, fixed tax rate and quarterly payment, but comes with restrictions.
| Point | Regular scheme | Composition scheme |
|---|---|---|
| Who can opt | Everyone | Eligible small businesses within the notified turnover limit |
| Input tax credit | Available | Not available |
| Inter-state sales | Allowed | Not allowed for goods |
| Selling on e-commerce platforms | Allowed | Restricted for goods |
| Tax invoice to buyers | Buyers can claim ITC | Bill of supply; buyers cannot claim ITC |
We explain which option suits your margins and customers before filing, because switching later involves extra filings.

Address proof for the place of business
- Owned premises: latest electricity bill or property tax receipt, or the ownership document.
- Rented premises: a signed rent agreement plus the owner’s electricity bill or ownership proof.
- Family-owned or shared premises: a consent letter from the owner with their ID and ownership proof.
- Warehouses and godowns: separate address proof for each additional place of business.
GST registration process, step by step
- Eligibility and planning. We confirm the correct constitution, principal place of business, any additional places, and the goods or services to be declared with their HSN or SAC codes.
- Part A on the GST portal. PAN, mobile number and email are verified by OTP and a Temporary Reference Number (TRN) is generated.
- Part B application. Business details, promoters, authorised signatory, address and documents are filled in and uploaded.
- Aadhaar authentication. The promoter or authorised signatory completes Aadhaar authentication. Where the portal requires it, biometric verification is completed at the designated GST Suvidha Kendra on an appointment.
- Officer verification. The jurisdictional officer examines the application. If a clarification is sought in Form REG-03, we draft and file the reply in REG-04 within the time allowed.
- GSTIN issued. The registration certificate in Form REG-06 is issued on the portal. We share it with you along with a compliance checklist for the first month.
Common reasons GST applications are rejected
- Address proof that does not match the address entered, or an unsigned rent agreement or consent letter.
- Unclear, cropped or password-protected document uploads.
- Wrong constitution of business, or a name that does not match PAN records.
- No reply, or an incomplete reply, to the officer’s clarification notice within the time given.
- Physical verification where the premises could not be identified or no business activity was visible.
We check every document against the details entered before filing, which avoids most of these problems. If your earlier application was rejected, we can review the rejection order and file a fresh, corrected application.
After registration: your GST obligations
- Display the GSTIN and the registration certificate at your place of business and on your signboard.

- Reconcile purchases with GSTR-2B before claiming input tax credit.

Our GST return filing service covers all of this every month, so your registration never lapses for non-filing.

Frequently asked questions
Who must register for GST in Haryana?
A business must register once its aggregate turnover in a financial year exceeds Rs 40 lakh where it supplies only goods, or Rs 20 lakh where it supplies services, or goods and services together. Some persons must register regardless of turnover, for example those making inter-state taxable supplies of goods, e-commerce operators, most persons selling goods through e-commerce platforms, casual taxable persons and persons liable to pay tax under reverse charge.
Can I take GST registration voluntarily below the threshold?
Yes. Voluntary registration is allowed. It lets you charge GST, claim input tax credit and sell to registered buyers or on marketplaces, but you must then file returns regularly, including nil returns in months with no sales.
How long does GST registration take?
Where Aadhaar authentication is completed and the officer raises no query, registration is generally approved within about seven working days of the application. Where physical verification is needed or Aadhaar authentication is not done, it can take up to about thirty days. Any clarification sought by the officer must be answered within the time given in the notice.
What documents are needed for a proprietorship?
PAN and Aadhaar of the proprietor, a photograph, proof of the business address (such as an electricity bill or property tax receipt, with a rent agreement or consent letter if the premises are not owned) and bank account details. We send the exact checklist on WhatsApp after a short call.
Can my home address be my place of business?
Yes, if the business is actually run from there and valid address proof is available. If the property belongs to a family member, a consent letter with their ID and ownership proof is normally needed.
Is there a government fee for GST registration?
No. The GST portal does not charge a fee for registration. Our professional fee starts from Rs 1,499 for a proprietorship and depends on the type of business and the work involved.
Do I need a separate registration for another state?
Yes. GST registration is state-wise. If you have a place of business in another state, you need a separate registration there under the same PAN.
Can I add a warehouse or godown later?
Yes. Additional places of business can be added later by filing an amendment application on the portal with address proof for the new place.
Kya GST registration ke liye shop zaroori hai?
Nahi. A fixed principal place of business is required, but it can be an office, a rented room or a residential address used for the business, as long as valid address proof is available.
What happens after I get my GSTIN?
You must display the GSTIN at your place of business, issue proper tax invoices and file returns such as GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B on time. Bank account details must be added on the portal within the prescribed time if they were not given in the application. We can take care of the monthly filings for you.
